Why do they hate us?

"They hate us because we love freedom," George W. Bush has explained.

But could there be other reasons? Like that we occupied and invaded their country, or that they haven't had reliable electricity or clean water since we arrived?

Or maybe the fact that they have to run for their lives whenever they leave their homes? And perhaps it's the fact that we are killing more of them than the insurgents.

The Iraqi Health Ministry estimates that operations by U.S. forces and U.S. supported Iraqi police have killed twice as many Iraqis — most of them civilians - as attacks by insurgents. The Health Ministry is the only organization that attempts to track "official" deaths in Iraq and counts 3,500 dead since it began counting last April. Another organization Iraq Body Count calculates that almost 15,000 Iraqis have been killed since the U.S. invasion.

The U.S. military says that it keeps estimates, but it refuses to release them.

So, as you read about yet another U.S. rocket attack on a residential neighborhood in Fallujah, is it really any wonder why they would hate us?
